Uganda Help Kenyans See also: FredKayiwa, EmmanuelNormanNakhokho http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/mendenyo/message/1116 Fri Jan 18, 2008 8:08 pm KENYAN REFUGEES IN UGANDA As the reports come out every day shows that the number of refugees crossing from Kenya to Uganda is increasing due to un safe leaving in Kenya which is not known when to stop. According to my Understanding, the number is going to Increase provided Kibaki does not step down just because Odinga who claims was robbed don't seem to allow him be the president. The question comes our way as members of the Miniciu Sodas What can we do to help the increasing number of refugees in eastern Uganda? I have a feeling that we can put half of the focus we have over building the pyramid peace tower to the Camps that have been step up in the Eastern Uganda. We identify the needs. Already we should know that in the Eastern Uganda there are a lot of Mosuiquitos, contaminated water and no food because it is a dry area. HIGH COST OF LEAVING The influx of people in eastern Uganda is going to bring high cost of goods and because they they will be on high demand since a lot of people are now staying there and I guess you all know the repercussions of this. MINICIU SODAS KNOWN I have a feeling that if we focus on these refugees by providing them the little we can, we can be reporting in the Local and International news and this can make awareness of the donors of he role Miniciu Sodas has played which I think gives a good Image and publicity. Remember now in the camps people may not need AIR TIME although they may have heir phones still work with Kenyan lines but they need food, good water I see there are some tablets called water guard sold in the ministry of health that can help purify water. They must be in need of nets to prevent malaria which is so risky to people more so KIDS and PREGNANT WOMEN. They must need some cloths and blackest to cover them selves, soap to bath, mattress and medicine. Honestly I have never, been a refugee of this kind but ihave volunteered in refugee camps in northern Uganda and I can tell you people in camps leaves in the worst stuation because they are so fixed and this brings them a lot of diseases. You all know Uganda has been commonly attacked by dangerous diseases like recently we had EBOLA AND CHOLERA so am just warried what can happen to the big number of people staying in the refugee camps. I have written this after calling Wendi and he tells me that the number is realy big Its far and it needs me transport to move there together with aletter from The Director ANDRIUS Other wise I could also go there and take photos of these people Am so touched about the number friend sand the Govt of Uganda has a lot of things to work upon what it will do is to allocate them a big place to stay and then request for people and NGOS to help I guess you can imagine the stuation now. I know the Red cross and other organizations must be there already but we also need to be there if possible Have been calling Ivone a swiss lady working with World Food Programme to ask her what measures they have over this and she could not pick her phone perhaps she was in ameeting may be you can rise her too and know she works with world food programme,. And she speaks English well although she is aswiss. Her number 256772771160 Thanks please for helping Kenyans. Kayiwa fred uganda Aboutthispage
