RonaldOmondi - western part of Kenya, Nyando district, 100 km from Kisumu.

RonaldOmondi: Hello to all Thank you all very much for your support and prayers that have kept us going. I have been holed up in Muhoroni which is a settlement scheme and is bodering the great Rift Valley. The events of the last two weeks have left me disturbed and speechless. To begin with we have a terror community that is known for thurgery since the year 1992 tribal clashes, this people have never recostructed their lives since that time so its been boiling within them and with the elections this became as a window for them to get out and revenge and the casualties have been my Kikuyu and Kisii brothers who have been livin within us. Shops have been looted and burnt down, houses torched. People killed sugar cane burnt the story is endless. One person was removed from the sugar plantation as he was gunned down and ran away and died in their. The site was something that you cannot express. Its been a two weeks of anxiety agony and anger to us. The Kikuyus and Kisii's who were living amongst us settled at a nearby police station,District Officers office. Its a site that you cannot contend with yet some are vowing that they arent going away. We live next to a DIstrict Officers office and this place hasnt been attacked yet and we are ghetting threats that we are next targets if we dont send away this people. Food is scarce, sanitation poor about 100 people sharing one pit latrine. Children who have been lucky to get medicine at a nearby dispensary might soon run out as the nurse is saying that she cant get replenished due to the unpassable roads. Our greatest fear now is either an attackjk from the Kalenjin who are saying that we are doing nothing in the fight or the terror gang who are llooking at the slightest opportunity to strike us. I wish we could get innovative ways to involve the youth so that they dont iddle to engage in this acts of thuggery. Today i managed to reach this town by paying fares upto 150% over the normal prices. Essential commodities arent there anymore and any that is left have gone upto 200% Please continue to pray for us so that this might end soon otherwise we will not be able to even to get working on the frarms for the years harvest. The youths whom i work with none so far has been hurt but they have expressed there dissapointment at what transpired the last two weks. Some are too traumatised to come to terms with the situation. We are praying to God so that a lasting solution can be found to this chaos which hit us the last two weeks. I would also like to thank all those of you who have called to find out how am doing. Ken thanks for the phone credit that you sent to me i managed to turn it into cash within two hours of receiving it. Peace be with you all Ronald. +254 722 480 811
