Sun, 10 Feb 2008 13:53:03 UTC Hamimu Byabato: My name is Hamimu Byabato,From Tanzania and a member of Uyoga .Now i'm working on music project and we had composing song of peacefor our neighbour fellow Kenyans; I hope could be in touch to tell every our progress in it.
Tanzania is in East Africa bordering the Indian Ocean betweeen Kenya and Mozambique..Tanzanians are not happy at all for what is happening in Kenya. The situation in Kenya speaks loud and clear that when people are doing something with their imotions very high, then it is only logical that fearness should prevail. But when the thuggery and idiotism prevails then the worst to happen.
We are now told that more than 600 people have died since violence started and more thousands have been displaced from their home.
Uyoga members are thinking on how to help Kenyans,William Wambura and Josephat Ndibalema are organising the collection of materials like second hand clothes and other things which might be highly needed to help those in refugee camps in Tanzania,Uganda and Kenya.
More news are highly needed to keep us updated.
Items that we are able to provide
-Clothes (used ones)
-Utensil (like cups,spoons,plates)
Also still in need of more information regarding what might be helpful
we hear that there is a shortage of food what about clothes, bedsheets etc
Clothes are very important for protecting them during the night when there is cold weather.
Mode of Collecting Items;
It is very easy to organise in collaboration with other people around,we are meeting people in churhes, mosques and schools to ask them for assistance. We really expect to gains more response. Also we are also buying second hand clothes at avery low prices but most of these clothes are of low glad but good for wearing.
The type of assistance we ask is to transport those items (paying transportation cost) to respective places after we have nough information on the need of these items.Kenyans like Ken,James of Nafsiafrica and Samuel Kongere can help us know where those items are mostly neeed.
This will also be discussed in the ongoing chat helping Kenyans,we need more ideas to this
I also told KennedyOwino of Pamela McLean's
(UK) ideas of songs of peace
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/mendenyo/message/876 and that we're
involving our Tanzanian participants. I have sent her contribution to
the Uyoga association there so they could help more. Josephat Ndibalema
and William Wambura +255 762 437 54 have been translating news and
letters into Kiswahili http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hakielimurafiki/
and Abinel Emanuel chatted with us about his deepest value in life:
Educate and change young people's lives through music. So we're asking
us all to think about this. Thank you, Meadowlea (USA). Also, Kiyavilo
Msekwa of Arusha, Tanzania today visited the border to learn about the
refugees and will go again tomorrow. And Davis Weddi works for a radio
station in Uganda so I wonder if he might be able to help with
encouraging musical expression here. Guilhem Buzenet offered to help
and I hope he might share his video skills!
WilliamWambura, January 8, 2008: Andrius, due to our previous cahtt on the idea of composing a song
for Kenyans, the song is arleady made, and amworking on how to share
it,we can record it on the tape recorder and send it through postar
mail,or we can buy here USB PC&BUILT-IN-FM RADIO,which is an IC
recorder, its easy to record and share with you by sending it as
ineternate audio.I have been to computer parties supply today,it
costs 330,000Tsh,and in that way its very easy to share even with
Nafsi Africa. We can also record the song to a proffesional music
producer here in Dar es salaam by 150USD,and that takes less than
three days. From this point we can look foward to Nafsi Africa with
their video production,if this is ok with you,we can have a chatt to
explain the contents of the music with its translation.
Another kind of help we are doing for tghe time being is to collect
clthoses, shoes, utensils and other many needed staff am doing this
by going to numbers of churches and houses, from UYOGA's members,am i
hope to buy some new second hand clothes which we can find them
cheaply 1USD we can buy two clothes,if you are interested you can
observe the ability to suport my idea,we have now to be in touch
woth james and get his fellow's contact from Arusha so that the
shipment is met,we get challenges here becouse people are very
reluctant, but on our side its ok becouse we get enough time to
explain Kenyan stuation tol.ocal people,so they get direct news from
my blog, the shipment is the only big challenges we are facing.
with love and regard,William

We can make such footballs for Kenyan refugees and we can also teach how to make them.
Mon, 21 Jan 2008 19:07:54 UTC JosephatNdibalema: Saying Hello to all,i have'nt been online for sometime now due to job,now i work 10 hrs a day instead of 6 hrs so this has reduced time to work for our community works. Thanks to Kenny for accepting our donation, now i assure you that Uyoga 'll always be in touch with you. Also i wish to say sorry to Sam who was ill.I'm following up the situation in Kenya still there is much tension,i'm continually astounded and dismayed by the persistence of murderous violence in Kenya.Humanity seemed to be trapped in a deepening spiral of hatred and vengeance. Many people including Martin Luther King Jr.,have insisted that peace not violence,is the path to genuine salvation. They have told us that the Kingdom of Heaven, whatever culturally and historically conditioned images are used to depict it,is reached through reconciliation and love, not domination and conguest.I condemn those people who resort to killing and desecration and terror to achieve their purposes. As i read each morning,s disheartening headlines,I sadly ask over and over again,WHY
