The contact details of the UK broadsheet dailies foreign desks are below. For the BBC it's worth thinking about specific programmes that might be interested e.g. today or PM.

Guardian - Foreign editor Harriet Sherwood - international news desk: 020 7239 9549 or international@guardian.co.uk. Independent - foreigneditor@ independent.co.uk Telegraph - Foreign Editor Michael Smith - switchboard 020 7931 2000, no email address Times - foreign.news@thetimes.co.uk

It might also be productive to contact journalists you read in the technology or development press as they may have a better grasp of what you are doing.

PaulMason is BBC TV reporter just back from Nairobi I made contact with him - he says AndriusKulikauskas "If anybody in your network is able to shoot video (I know this is a long shot) I am interested in using it. I will read the newsletter and get on contact once I have recovered from the flight.

AndriusKulikauskas January 9, 2008 23:41 CET I submitted this to SlashDot:

Brian Behlendorf has just donated to Kenyans building a Pyramid of Peace. The money is converted into phone credits which are then forwarded to activists throughout Kenya, applying a brilliant feature of the Kenyan mobile phone system. Activists send them out further to people from opposing tribes. They reach out even further to engage troublemakers whose roadblocks in the center of Kenya are causing food shortages. Ultimately, the credits are exchanged for food, medicine and transport. Prepaid phone cards ran out, so the phone credits can be worth more than cash. Banks weren't able to open in much of the country, and streets and roads weren't safe, so this delivery system is especially vital, reaching isolated people early on. Minciu Sodas has a list of Kenyans to call but has run out of funds. Phone credits can be funded directly through Sambazanow.com. The image of Pyramid of Peace comes from Nafsi Afrika Acrobats who are from different tribes and actually built one to foster 'enemies embracing each other'.
