April 28, 2009: I am a teacher, I got teaching appointment in 2005 and was posted to a rural area in 2005 in oyo state nigeria. In this rurals pupils have to treck many miles before they get to school, no instructional materials, i have to communicate and browse the net with my 3g sony ericsson phone (the one i am using to send this mail), no infrastructural facilities, or ammenities like tap water electricity, motorable roads, hospitals or health centres and lots of other comforts enjoy in our city. I really want somebody to tell me how teaching and learning process could be facilitated. I met with pam [of Episodes 2 and ] some years back in my village ago are and thanks to pam she invited me over to kafanchan and i had an interactive sessions with others and we created a group called fantsuamsdl (self directed learners) and she gave me some books that could enhance learning. I lost my membership to this group but i have re activated it and this has given me the privillege of sending messages into this group. I want some body around here who could tell me more how i can be a successful teacher in the rurals. Your advices are welcomed.

And also: Hi pam, johndada, ricardo, others, I had my NCE in Agric (dm) in the year 2002 at Federal College of Education Abk. I immediately planned to further my education but I could not because I had my results in Art subjects and this has caused a hitch and has placed a clog in the wheel of my education progress My dream from birth is to become an Information Communication Technologist but achieving this has been a problem ever since it has almost been obliterated from my memory but I have got to achieve this my childhood dream, how do I switch from agric (dm) with my O'level result in art to become an ICT expert is it possible? How do I obtain/achieve this? If you have any idea kindly forward it. I am presently teaching in one of the rurals in Nigeria(see my blog teachingintherurals.blogspot.com yet to be updated anyway) thanks

Thomas Cepaitis replied right away: Hello, Maybe I could help you on-line, if you'll state the problems you challenge in the teaching process (misunderstandings or smth. like that)/ I am an independent thinker and like to think about fresh solutions to the problems. Also I am an on-line teacher in literature and languages myself. What discipline do you teach? Or everything, since you are the only teacher in the region? so, write me, if you'd like directly to my address uzheroldas1615 AT yahoo.com Yours, Thomas (from Lithuania and Russia)
