We're making a new list of our endeavors. What are we attempting to do that might change our world? What are related questions? How can others help?

LucasGonzalez: Looking at Endeavors I see we're on each other's teams. So what I'd need is to look at that page as a practical means for the "how can we work together" question. In practical terms, the Endeavors page might in time become a software-facilitated piece of networking among independent thinkers, serving as a way to update our own pages and the other way round. That's the mechanical part of it, but the idea is there. The way I see it, each of us applies energy where we see fit, we see our projects moving forward, and we help each other - all in one go.

AndriusKulikauskas: Lucas, yes and every endeavor can be central if it advances the ultimate endeavor which is to reach out to the hard to reach. In practice, we ask ourselves, how is our endeavor doing each of the following:

Keystone Endeavors

We're organizing our endeavors into ecosystems of related endeavors. Within each such ecosystem we're identifying keystone endeavors, much like keystone species (like a beaver), that shape and interlink the entire ecosystem. • OpenSourceTractor - a tractor built from open source do-it-yourself hardware that can be adapted for hundreds of tasks on a small farm and each part is useful on its own, too (a domesticated robot?) (see Global Villages Construction Set)
• EmergencyResponseNetwork - a system for fostering leadership based on local meetings and mobile phone text messages to prepare for catastrophes such as a FluPandemic

A topology of all content in which I can orient myself. A map. I like to see a common "information landscape". Some stable ground to build and to return. I even think in topologies, I organize my mind as landscape. I like to communicate my mind as a landscape. This landscape should be constantly nurtured by the findings of the mailing list. Things should be put at the right place, like collecting nuts and bringing them home before wintertime.
• Move to University Global Villages, February 2, 2007 I consider this the right time a place like Arcosanti that has accumulated a lot of knowledge and experience opens up to the idea of a living network of information exchange between communities that want to contribute to global future. VideoBridging is not only a backbone technology connecting educational places with Video connections, but the important thing is the sharing approach, including documenting, indexing and using everything from these conversations for further educational use. We can imagine that by the cooperation of places apt to participate with good content, this sharing approach might generate the equivalent of a university, a virtual university ...and we are almost there in Austria with the kickoff of the bioversity - connecting more than 16 locations around the country in discussing all aspects of renewable resources.... http://www.bioversitaet.at (German only) So could - with the help of Arcosanti - such a "virtual university" or "Bioversity" emerge in the United States, merging with our efforts in Europe? The archipelago of world class living laboratories which in total form a whole sustainable lifestyle is still big in the US...maybe Arcosanti could take the lead and become an "educational city" amongst others.

These former phone companies even understand that the main issue is content of quality developed and shared by their customers - and that we need to free this content (audiovisual) from copyright restrictions.
• Move to University Global Villages, March 11, 2007 I issue at this early time the invitation to (for all Globalvillagers) come between 11th and 15th of October 2007 to Vienna and Kirchbach and participate in the MIR meeting titled "the regional / local educational institution of the future". Of course this is also depending on the success of the MIRy2 application that I am just writing...but it will be a converging point for videobridge plans and globalvillages thinkers.

• subgroup looking into the results of the Kirchbach bioversity with 21 rural centres already served (with no other infrastructure than a windows media player, a beamer, pc, and sound system) - so we can set up further events with even larger impact.
• subgroup looking into the possibility of a school partnership and remote learngroups for kids 11-15 years in an alpine village in Styria - building on an idea of Annerose.
• subgroup looking into the possibilities of Vienna as a city teaming up with rural villages, especially Wildalpen.
