Algebra

Andrius: Here are my notes for teaching algebra with an emphasis on the deep, fundamental ideas. I prepared these notes for my 1992 class which I taught at UCSD and now I am using them to teach in Bosnia.

Connect with Eric Weisstein regarding a gigantic math encyclopedia of basic math facts illustrating various dimensions (such as mass, time, speed, money, etc.). He is the encyclopedist for Wolfram Research and is interested in making detailed math and science information accessible to the lay person.

SashaMrkailo June 21, 2007 19:10 CET I never really understood the language of mathematic (is it a language?), only once perhaps had I had a glimpse of what it is about when I read a book about history of mathematics. And there I saw what was behind it, what was the significance of trigonometry and such, what was really behind the need, how did people solved problems that were very real to them. And that was very different for me than dry mathematic lessons in my school days, where I really didn't understand anything. And have forgoten everything. Hmm, what is the correlation between interest and memory?
